If I may help you, I will tell you to go to Corsica !🌞 Ok but you don't know anything about this little Island, How to go there ? What to do once you will be on site ? I'm your guide !

In this post I will indicate you the best cities to visit. So let's begin our tour.

 BASTIA

     W H E R E  I T  I S ?

🐚Located on the North-east, Bastia is the capital of the Nothern part of Corsica. You can easily reach it by plane or boat, considering you are arriving from France, because there are many departures every day.

🐚Bastia is not really big but there are quite a few places you should go to, if you decide to come and visit. Throughout its narrow streets, the city reveals a certain authenticity and a unique charm. Here is what to see:

  • THE OLD PORT

Located between the old historical "Citadelle" and the market place, the old port is very crowded during summer because there are a lot of restaurants and bars where you can stop to enjoy delicious local food.
The Must in my opinion ? Take place at a sidewalk cafe in the morning, and observe the return of the fishing boats. You can also take a walk on the quays and look at the pleasure boats.

  • THE CITADELLE

On the heart of Terra Nova area, the "Citadelle" is appreciated for the beauty of its alleys and its colorful houses which literally shine when the weather is sunny and warm. This is a relaxing place where you can also find resutaurants and cafes. You can access to it by clibimg the steps situated at the end of the port and enjoy the beautiful view on the top of the Citadelle.

 CALVI

  W H E R E  I T  I S ?

🐚If we take Bastia as a mark, Calvi is on the opposite side, the West cost of Corsica. Just 2 hours away by car, the city is known for its lovely beaches and its half-moon shaped bay.

🐚Located among sea, moutains and forests, Calvi is one of the prettiest cities in Corsica. To help you discovering it, I will tell you the best places to see :

  • THE CITADELLE OF CALVI

Overlooking the city, this is the first thing you may do when reaching Calvi is taking a walk around the Citadelle district and along the walls. This will give you the chance to see the amazing view on the sea and on the city.

  • BOATS EXCURSIONS FROM CALVI
At the port, some companies offer day trips, the formules are different depending on your chosen destinations and you have the possibility to book on the internet. My 3 favorite locations are :
The Natural reserve of Scandola, a 4 hours cruise.
The Revellata, a peninsula to have a beautiful hike.
The Agriate Desert, a unique landscape which includes Saleccia beach one of the most beautiful beach of Corsica.

  • CHAPELLE NOTRE DAME DE LA SERRA
From "Notre Dame de la Serra" Chapelle you can experience the most beautiful view on Calvi. The first time I went to this place I was amazed by the breathtaking panorama and by the serenity I felt over there. Not too far from the Revellata hike, about 4 minutes by car, this little chapelle is next to the cemetery and reveals a stunning view on the unique shape of Calvi's bay.

 BONIFACIO

     W H E R E  I T  I S ?

🐚Bonifacio is my all-time favorite city of Corsica ! My top of the list because of its authenticity and the rare beauty of the city. It is located at the extreme South-end of Corsica, at 2 hours drive from Bastia. If I can give you an advice : plan to sleep on site 😉 So that you can fully enjoy Bonifacio and its surroundings.

    W H A T  T O  V I S I T ?

🐚So you may probably ask yourself how it can be one of the most popular cities of Corsica ? Well, Through 3 different places I visited, and here they are.

  • THE HIGH CITY

You can take a walk around the high city of Bonifacio; I love to admire the beautiful and colorful houses in these narrow alleys. I strongly recommend you one to reach, the belvedere of the upper city, to enjoy a breathetaking view on the famous limestone cliffs.

  • THE CITADELLE OF BONIFACIO

From the Citadelle the view on the Mediterranean sea and on the famous Bonifacian cliffs is startling! At the upper city you can feel the charm of Bonifacio with its little cobbled streets.

  • THE CIMETIÈRE MARIN
Yeah I know...you are probably saying that visiting a cemetery during vacation may not sound that good! But it will be a pity if you don't have a look. It's far away from the saddest cemetery you have seen. This one is full of little chapels which remind me of little houses, and the view over the sea is just wonderful. I don't know why but entering the cimetery for me was like being in another world...

  • VISIT BONIFACIO BY BOAT
The beauty of Bonifacio is very appreciated from the sea ! Some companies offered sea trips which allow the tourists to see an entire view on the town perched on the cliffs. You will have the chance to admire marine caves only accessible by boat and to see a natural beauty : the shape of Corsica Island cut in the rock's ceiling!

〜 CAP CORSE 〜

W H E R E  I T  I S ?

🐚The Cap Corse is on the extreme North-east of Corsica. It is a long peninsula starting from Bastia, full of beautiful little villages that you must visit.

♡ W H A T  T O  V I S I T ?

🐚Let's begin your road trip with one of the most popular roads in Corsica !😋 As there are a lot of villages, I will present you my 2 personal favorite ones and I will explain you why.

  • SAINT-FLORENT

In the hollow of a gulf with the same name (Saint-Florent gulf), this city is a wonderful seaside resort. Usually called "the Corsican Saint-Tropez" (a famous city of the South of France), you can find its charm in its old city and its port.

  • SANTA-MARIA-DI-LOTA
A tiny village which is on top of a moutain, which offer a stunning view over the sea. I really like this place for its calm and the view.
